Product Details
Electrolade Orange Oral Rehydration Sachets have a rich orange flavour, are clear and colourless, and are formulated with rehydrating salts and sugars that replace body fluids lost due to acute diarrhoea and vomiting. This effective oral sickness and rehydration treatment alleviates dehydration to maintain regularity. The rehydration salts and sugars include anhydrous glucose, sodium chloride, potassium chloride and the nourishing sodium bicarbonate. As a result body fluids are replenished. This orange flavoured solution has a clear and colourless formula, and should be drunk fresh. As a result the body will begin to retain the vital salts, sugars and minerals it needs. Electrolade Orange Oral Rehydration Sachets provide a flavoursome solution to replenishing lost body fluids. The water lost to diarrhoea and dehydration are restored with the ingredients contained in these sachets, which are suitable for use by adults and children over two years of age.
Directions
To make solution: Add contents of one sachet to 200ml (7fl.oz) fresh, clean, drinking water. Stir to dissolve.
Adults: 200 to 400ml (one to two sachets) of reconstituted Electroade should be drunk after each loose motion. Up to 16 sachets may be used in 24 hours.
Children: 200ml (one sachet) of reconstituted Electroade should be drunk after each loose motion. Up to 12 sachets may be used in 24 hours.
Infants less than 2 years with severe diarrhoea or frequent vomiting should be seen by a doctor as soon as possible. Initially stop all feeds except breast feeding. Encourage the baby to drink Electrolade at 1-1½ times the usual volume of feed. One sachet should be dissolved in 200ml (7fl.oz.) freshly boiled and cooled drinking water. This solution must not be reheated. No milk (other than breast milk) or solids should be given during the first 24 hours. In breast fed infants, Electrolade should be given before the feed. The re-introduction of normal feeding should only take place when symptoms of diarrhoea are improving and should be added gradually to make up the total daily fluid requirements.
